Why Vacuum Packaging

Vacuum packaging is a process by which air is mechanically extracted from a special plastic bag containing food. When the extraction process is completed, the bag is sealed to prevent air from reentering. This creates an airtight seal and a high and enduring barrier to airborne microorganisms.

Spoilage and evaporation are diminished and vacuum packaged foods maintain flavor and freshness 3-5 times longer than conventional storage methods because the foods do not come in contact with oxygen.

While vacuum packaged foods can last longer than foods in conventional packaging, the vacuum packets must be kept under refrigeration or in the freezer until used.
